Why IB7s?
For your sanity … and to save re-inventing the wheel! We are all teaching the same course, so we need to meet the same needs; why write your own materials if good ones exist already?
- For proven quality. All the resources on this site have been developed in successful IB schools, by leading IB teachers also qualified as workshop leaders.
For the flexibility you need. The files you download can easily be modified for local conditions (e.g. adjust enzyme concentration to suit different ‘room temperature’!).
For imaginative approaches, e.g. short unscripted video clips of successful experiments allow data collection to be assessed even when a student’s own experiment has failed.
For regular updates. Subscribers receive a monthly notification of new resources added to the site, and updates of existing resources.
For effective feedback. Your comments and suggestions will be read by the authors, and can be incorporated much more effectively than with a traditional textbook.
IB teachers: download resources you would like to write if you had time:
* Forms and sample course outlines to assist running of the course
* Advice on the Internal Assessment and avoiding common pitfalls in setting tasks,
* Student skills sheets to guide students through each of the skills,
* Practical protocols, including instructions to give to students at each stage,
* Video clips of successful experiments, from which students can record their own data.
By subscribing for IB7s Updates, teachers will be prompted to download new material that is being added to the site, including:
Student worksheets to support the course content.
PowerPoint presentations precisely tailored to the course content.
Resources for other subjects will follow later.
